Knowledge Gateway was established as part of a two-year project running from 2009-2011. The project was funded by University Grants Commission. The mandate was to implement the Dspace at St Stephen's College and to further develop this into a managed preservation and delivery service. From the January of 2009 a service team has been established with a mandate to support the service and facilitate submission of digital material to Knowledge gateway. The Knowledge Gateway@St stephen's College Project has the objective of developing an institutional repository that will preserve and disseminate digital materials created by or associated with the . It utilises DSpace™, an open source digital repository software platform developed jointly by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Libraries and Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. There are three principal websites associated with this project:
